Shift Interlock Switch: Testing and Inspection
A/T Park Pin Switch Test
1. Connect the HDS to the DLC (A).
2. Check the Park Pin Switch signal with the HDS in the A/T data list while the shift lever is in P, and when the shift lever is shifted to any position
other than P.
The HDS indicates ON while the shift lever is in P, and OFF when the shift lever out of P. The park pin switch is OK, park pin switch is finished.
NOTE: If the HDS does not communicate with the PCM, troubleshoot the DLC circuit. See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control
Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/DLC Circuit Troubleshooting
3. If the park pin switch is faulty, troubleshoot the key interlock system circuit. See: Powertrain Management/Transmission Control Systems/Testing
and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Interlock System - Key Interlock System Circuit Troubleshooting
