Speedometer is intermittent/inoperative (all 100/200, from 1989) or engine stalls intermittently on deceleration (100, from 1990 only)
as the result of one or more loose/poor solder connections on the instrument panel printed circuit board.

Service solution:
^ while driving car, tap on instrument cluster and observe speedometer needle if speedometer needle jumps, a loose/poor solder
connection may be the cause
Solder connection, repairing
^ obtain radio security code
^ disconnect battery ground strap
^ remove instrument cluster, see Repair Manual Group 90
^ carefully disassemble instrument cluster and remove printed circuit board (arrow)
