tighten bolt 1, 2 and 3 20 N-m (15 ft.lb.)

-

tighten bolts 4 and 5 35 N-m (26 ft.lb.)

NEW Alternator V-Belt Break In ("Run In") Procedure

-

start the engine and run at idle

-

turn on all electrical consumers i.e.: Air Conditioning rear window defogger; head lamps high beam; seat heaters ...

-

let engine idle for at least 20 min.

Note

V-belt will stretch during this "Run In" period.

Caution

Vehicle should not be left unattended or unmonitored during V-belt break in idling period

-

readjust V-belt tension as described above.

Note

In extreme high alternator load conditions (i.e. when many electrical consumers are used such as air conditioning ... ) it may be necessary to inspect and
adjust V-belt 300 - 500 miles after initial installation.
