Sunroof / Moonroof Panel: Service and Repair

Sunroof headliner panel, removing and installing 

Removing 

- 

Open sliding roof approx. 10cm (3.9 in.) toward rear.

- 

Spread retaining clips on left and right and slide sliding roof headliner toward rear.

Note:  Illustration shows retaining clips from inner side of sliding roof headliner.

- 

Close roof.

- 

Unscrew screws -1-, -2- and -3- completely from tilt mechanism on both sides.
Tightening torque: 4.0-5.0 Nm (35-47 in lb) 

- 

Lift out roof panel upward.

- 

Remove sliding roof headliner.

Note:  Headliner can also be removed without removing sliding roof panel - proceed as follows:
