Front Final Drive Fluid: Testing and Inspection

Gear oil level in front final drive, checking

Remove oil filler plug (arrow -1-).
Specified value: oil level to lower edge of oil filler hole
If necessary top off gear oil.
Install new seal for oil filler plug.
Install oil filler plug.
Tighten oil filler plug to 50 Nm (37 ft lb)

Gear oil in front final drive, changing and/or topping off

Place oil pan underneath.
Remove oil drain plug (arrow -2-) and drain gear oil.
Always replace seal for oil drain plug.
Install oil drain plug.
Remove oil filler plug (arrow -1-).
Slowly pour in gear oil.
Specified value: oil level to lower edge of oil filler hole
Install new seal for oil tiller plug.
Install oil filler plug.
Tighten oil drain plug to 50 Nm (37 ft lb)
Tighten oil filler plug to 50 Nm (37 ft lb)
