Drive/Propeller Shaft: Adjustments
Manual Transmission 01A

The adjustment operation should be carried out with the greatest care, as a mis-adjusted driveshaft is frequently the cause of vibration and droning
noises.

-

Remove exhaust pipe with three way catalytic converters (arrows -2-).

-

Remove front crossmember (arrow -1-) and heat shield.

-

Remove complete exhaust system.

-

Remove crossmember below driveshaft.

-

Loosen bolts securing driveshaft to body.

-

Attach alignment fixture 3139 and tighten plastic nuts.

-

Remove securing bolts and spacers.

-

Measure gaps -a- as shown (left and right sides must be equal), and determine thickness of spacers required according to table below.
