Power Steering Pump - Replacing

Replacing Power Steering Pump

Model(s): 
100, 100S, 100CS  (M.Y. 1993 Canada) M.Y. 1992

Condition:

^ Power steering pump requires replacement.
^ Replaced pump manufactured by Vickers. (see pump data plate)

Cause:
All replacement power steering pumps are manufactured by ZF. The ZF pump is slightly shorter than the Vickers pump and will require an adjustment to
the mounting bracket (see dimension "A").

Service:

- With the mounting bracket removed, place the ZF pump into position within the bracket.
- Install the two front attaching bolts "B". Use a brass drift and hammer to move the sleeves "C" located in the pump bracket, until they contact

the pump housing. -

- Install the two attaching bolts "D". (it may require loosening of the two attaching bolts "B" to achieve alignment)
- Reinstall the pump/bracket assembly as instructed in Group 48 of the repair manual for 1992 100's.

NOTE: 

Spacer plate Part No. 048 145 537 is no longer required.
