Any locking compound residue must be cleaned from the threads in the transmission and rear final drive flanged shafts after disassembling the
driveshaft. If not, there is a risk of the bolts seizing when being screwed in and shearing off when removed. The threads can be cleaned with a
tap.

Always install new self-locking screws.

When installing driveshaft, make sure that marking point on driveshaft flange -A- and final drive flange -B- are aligned.

Before installing crossmember below driveshaft, adjust the driveshaft. See: Adjustments

Installation position of crossmember below driveshaft:
Shoulder (arrow) faces toward left side.

Install exhaust system, refer to Exhaust System.

Tighten the following components to:
Driveshaft to automatic transmission: 55 Nm (41 ft lb)
Driveshaft to rear final drive: 55 Nm (41 ft lb)
Center bearing to body: 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
Heat shield to transmission: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
Crossmember to body: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
CAUTION:

Screws and bolts are self-locking.

Always replace self-locking fasteners.
