Air Bypass Valve: Testing and Inspection
1.
Remove air bypass valve and blow into one air passage.
^
Valve should be closed (no air flows through valve).
Checking Air Bypass Valve
2.
Connect vacuum pump to valve, apply and hold vacuum.
^
Valve should open (air flows through valve).
3.
Wait 30 seconds - 1 minute.
^
Valve should remain open (diaphragm holding vacuum).
If valve does not operate as described, replace it.
