If correct code is NOT displayed,

^

check coding connector (plug) located on left rear of instrument panel for correct part number (see table)

FUEL INJECTION CODE, CHECKING

^

start engine and run at 3000 RPM for approx. 30 seconds

^

stop engine and switch ignition OFF

^

press and hold down Board computer RESET button B

^

switch ignition ON

^

press upper function selector switch A and hold down

^

fuel injection code is displayed

A for CIS fuel injection
F for CIS-E III and Motronic fuel injection

If correct fuel injection code is NOT displayed

^

check for correct coding connector

OR

^

check fuel consumption signal

FUEL CONSUMPTION SIGNAL, CHECKING (VEHICLES WITH CIS-E III AND MOTRONIC FUEL INJECTION)

check that air flow sensor plate is properly adjusted (CIS-E III only, see Repair Manual, Group 25)
