Vacuum Vent Valve: Service and Repair

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove cover and air duct from under left side of instrument panel.

3.

Remove electrical connector and vacuum hose from vacuum vent valve.

4.

Using J-shaped tool 2041 or equivalent, push vacuum vent valve out of bushing from behind.

5.

Once the valve is removed, the threads are destroyed. Do not reuse valve. Install new valve loosely by hand.

6.

Using a 10mm socket, push vent valve through bushing as far as possible.

7.

Pull brake (clutch) pedal as far back as possible.

8.

Release pedal slowly. Switch is now adjusted.
