Timing Component Alignment Marks: Locations

Valve Timing, Adjusting

Set crankshaft to TDC for cylinder number 1 by aligning pointer with "0" mark on flywheel. Both valves for cylinder number 1 closed.
Make sure camshaft mark (arrow) is in line with upper edge of rear drive belt cover.

CAUTION:  Incorrect removal or installation of the timing belt can result in damage to internal engine components.
