Remove the fuel pump relay, and install a jumper wire with an in-line switch, Fig. 24.  Energize fuel pump for about 10 seconds to build proper
fuel pressure.  The upper edge of the sensor plate nearest the fuel distributor should be flush with the upper part of the cone Fig. 4.  The upper
edge of the sensor plate may be as much as 0.5mm (0.020 in) below the beginning of the upper part of the cone, but must not project up into the
cone at all (this may cause poor cold starting).  Sensor plate must be installed with "TOP" or several punch marks facing up.

Before adjusting the sensor plate position, ensure fuel pump is not running, (to avoid excess fuel discharge while moving sensor plate).

Adjust the sensor plate position by bending the wire loop on the spring stop (arrow).

a. To raise the stop, lift the plate and pull the top part of the spring up with a hook tool.
b. To lower the stop, remove the sensor plate and use pliers to bend the spring.
