To eliminate fuel-line noise which appears to come from the fuel pump, the fuel-line check valve has been replaced by a hollow bolt (as of Nov. 1981
production, VIN 81 DA 058 483/85DA 054 028).

Fuel-line noise, eliminating in earlier cars

In earlier cars, fuel-line noise can be reduced or eliminated by removing the fuel-line check valve and installing a hollow bolt instead.
