Brake Pad: Service and Repair
Front

CAUTION:

Always remove some brake fluid from reservoir before installing new brake pads. When caliper piston is pushed back, fluid is forced out of caliper
and into reservoir. Remove fluid with an appliance used for this purpose only.

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.

2. On models equipped, pull plug connector for wear indicator out of clip, then press connector on knurled surface and pull apart.

3. Using open end wrench to hold guide pin head, remove lower caliper mounting bolt.

4. Swing caliper upward, then remove brake pads.
5. Push piston back into caliper housing. 
6. Install brake pads and heat shield with shield facing piston, then swing caliper downward and install ``new'' lower self-locking mounting bolt. Use
