Cause:

Engine oil leakage between crankshaft and rear crankshaft seal.

Production tolerances of seal rings have been narrowed:

Service:

Replace with crankshaft seals supplied by the vendor "Bruss". P/N 068-103-051G, for all 4 and 5 cylinder engines.

Note:

The following precautions should be observed when replacing seals:

-

Only use the proper tools designated in the repair manual for seal removal and installation.

-

Inspect the sealing flange area which mates to the crank shaft seal for any visual distortion caused by improper
installation of the previous seal.

-

Inspect the crankshaft sealing surface which mates to the I.D. of the crankshaft seal for any burrs or flashes. Carefully
remove any imperfections by lightly polishing surface with emery paper.

Caution:

Do Not Remove Any Material!
