Hold shock absorber shaft and remove retaining nut, bearing, retainer, bump stop, and sleeve, Fig. 6. Remove compressed coil spring carefully and
lay aside.

Remove threaded cap from top of strut tube and remove shock absorber cartridge, Fig. 6.

Reverse procedure to assemble, torque fasteners to specifications, Fig. 6. Torque values for Quattro Turbo are as follows: slotted nut, 36
ft.lbs.; threaded cap, 130 ft.lbs. Torque values for 80/90 & 80/90 Quattro are as follows: slotted nut, 36 ft.lbs.; threaded cap, 108 ft.lbs.
