Ignition Power Stage: Testing and Inspection

Ignition coil power stage, checking

Work sequence

Note  Check blue connecting wire and insulation from terminal 1 of ignition coil to switch module for any damage or corrosion. Repair if
necessary.

Connect coil wire to ground with jumper wire

Unplug connector from power stage (arrow) more

-

Connect voltmeter between terminal 1 of unplugged connector (green/white wire) and ground

Ground terminal 2 of unplugged connector with jumper wire

CAUTION:  Be sure test lead connections are correct. If connections are reversed, engine control unit may be damaged.
