1984 - 1986 MODEL AUDI 5000 WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

INSTALLATION OF AUTOMATIC SHIFT LOCK (ASL)

Dear Audi Dealer:

This is to inform you of a service action campaign relating to unintended acceleration of 1984 through 1986 model Audi 5000 vehicles equipped with
automatic transmissions. The vehicles involved are within the following vehicle identification number range:

WAU_ _04_ _E_000001 - WAU_ _04_ _G_160000

Audi has developed a magnetic locking device holding the shift lever in the "Park" position unless the driver steps on the brake pedal. This locking
device is to be installed in all 1984 through 1986 model automatic vehicles.
