Symptom:

Abnormal hydraulic valve lifter noise

Production Change:

Modified oil return check valve

Service Solution:

CAUTION

DO NOT perform this repair if a week or more has passed since the engine was last operated.

If repair procedures in the repair manual DO NOT correct problem, test check valve operation and replace valve as necessary;

start and bring engine to operating temperature

^

remove oil pressure switch C

^

located in-line with oil pressure valve A

^

make a leakage tester as follows:
