Throttle Full Open Switch: Testing and Inspection

VOLTAGE SUPPLY, CHECKING

-

disconnect idle and full throttle switch harness connector from throttle switch assembly

-

connect multimeter US 1119 between terminal 2 of throttle switch harness connector (C) and ground

-

switch ignition ON
-

specification: approximately 12 volts

-

switch ignition OFF

IF NO

-

repair break in wiring using wiring diagram

IDLE SWITCH ADJUSTING

Requirement:
-

Basic throttle adjustment OK

-

connect multimeter US 1119 between terminals 1 and 2 of throttle switch connector
-

specification: approximately zero ohms (continuity)

-

operate throttle switch using throttle lever

-

measurement should change to infinite ohms

NOTE:  To adjust the idle switch, the throttle body must first be removed
