Check voltage reading

Specification: minimum 4.0 V

Using tool 2079, turn crankshaft until trigger wheel window (arrow) is fully aligned with Hall sender

Check voltage reading
^

Specification: 0-0.5 V 

-

Switch ignition OFF

If specification NOT OK

-

Replace Hall sending unit

If specification OK

-

Check wiring for open circuit between Hall sending unit and control unit connector

-

Remove control unit cover located in footwell on passenger side of vehicle

-

Unplug control unit connector

-

Use ohmmeter to check continuity between terminals of Hall sender connector D and control unit connector A

Connector D terminal (1) and control unit connector A terminal (23)

^

Connector D terminal (2) and control unit connector A terminal (27)

^

Connector D terminal (3) and control unit connector A terminal (25)

^

Each specification: approx. 0 ohm 

If NOT OK

-

Check for open circuit in wiring between connectors A and D according to current flow diagram

If wiring OK

-

Replace ignition control unit
