Brake Caliper With Guide Pin

3. Using open end wrench to hold guide pin head, remove lower caliper mounting bolt.

Double Piston Caliper

4. Swing caliper upward, then remove brake pads.
5. Place an old brake pad into caliper and push piston back into caliper housing.
6. Install brake pads, then swing caliper downward and install ``new'' lower self-locking mounting bolt. Use an open end wrench to hold guide pin in

position when tightening lower mounting bolt. Tighten bolt to specifications.

7. Connect wear indicator plug and attach to retaining clip.
8. After pads are installed, refill reservoir to MAX mark.
9. Depress brake pedal several times to position caliper piston and seat brake pads.

10. Recheck brake fluid level before road test.

NOTE:

Disconnect brake hoses only when replacing or servicing calipers. When detaching but not removing brake calipers, do not remove hoses. Hang
calipers on frame.
