Air Sensor Potentiometer: Description and Operation
The air sensor potentiometer is connected to the air sensor lever. It generates a voltage signal based on the position of the air sensor plate. This
signal is used by the fuel injection control unit to determine cold acceleration enrichment.
The ignition control unit also uses this voltage signal to determine ignition timing. By measuring the position of the air sensor plate, the ignition
control unit can determine engine load. This value, together with engine speed, is used to determine ignition timing.
