Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection

IDLE SWITCH, CHECKING/ADJUSTING

-

loosen upper left bolt from throttle valve housing

-

attach pointer and tighten bolt

-

attach protractor 3084 to primary throttle valve shaft (remove nut if necessary)

-

disconnect switch wire plug and connect ohmmeter across open connector terminals

-

zero protractor

-

open throttle approx. 20°, then slowly close again

ohmmeter must read 0 ohms at 1 to 2.5°

If NO

-

remove throttle valve housing

-

adjusting idle switch at mounting screws (arrows)

NOTE:  Ohmmeter must indicate continuity (0 ohms) before throttle reaches idle position
