Subject:

Climate Control - No Heat

Cause:

Blend door in heater box binding due to contraction of housing assembly.

Production Change:

Modified blend door with chamfered sides.

Service Solution:

1.

Remove right side windshield wiper arm and plastic cover from water plenum.

2.

Disconnect Bowden cable from heater box control lever.

3.

Check for free movement of control lever.

4.

If lever sticks, loosen center screw one turn (Phillips head). Screw is located below linkage on right side of heater box seven inches inside of
housing. Phillips head screw can be reached only with flex (spring type) extention, inches total length, including ratchet and Phillips head
socket.

5.

If lever is free, check for free movement of Bowden cable and reassemble.

6.

Test vehicle and check climate control for proper operation.
