remove luggage compartment cover

remove cover for fuel gauge sending unit (arrows)
-
connector from fuel gauge sending unit (arrow)
-
connect VW 1301 to connector, outer terminals
-
switch ignition ON
-
set dial of VW 1301 to following numbers and check gauge reading
544 = empty
