WARNING

Brake fluid is poisonous.

CAUTION

Brake fluid must not come in contact with paintwork.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic, i.e., it absorbs moisture from the surrounding air. Therefore, it must be replaced in the vehicle every two years. Stored
brake fluid must be kept in air-tight containers.

Use only new brake fluid which conforms with US specification FMVSS 116 DOT 4.

Do not add or mix DOT 5 silicone type brake fluid with the brake fluid in the vehicle. Severe component corrosion may result. Such corrosion could
lead to brake system failure.

Do not re-use fluid removed from the brake fluid reservoir. Water and contaminants In the fluid can cause brake performance problems.

Equipment required:

pressure bleeder, US 1116 or equivalent

brake fluid container with transparent hose inserted (to check expelled brake fluid for air bubbles)

Vehicles with manual transmission: 
If a brake master cylinder has been removed/installed, the clutch slave cylinder must be bled before bleeding the brakes.

connect pressure bleeder, US 1116

^

open bleeder screws in prescribed sequence below and assist bleeding process with repeated, slow, forceful pumping of the brake pedal
