Temperature Gauge: Testing and Inspection
Engine Coolant Temperature Voltage Supply, Checking

Coolant temperature voltage supply, checking 

- 

detach connector from temperature sending unit (arrow)

- 

attach voltmeter between connector with brown/black lead (arrow) and ground

- 

switch ignition ON
‹›  spec's: approx. 10 volts 

if not, pull instrument cluster out and disconnect 12 point multipoint plug

- 

attach ohmmeter between terminal 1 of multipoint plug and plug connector with brown/black lead of temperature sending unit
‹›  spec's: approx. 0 ohms

if not within specifications, check according to current flow diagram and voltage stabilizer
