Air Sensor Potentiometer: Adjustments

NOTE:  Potentiometer is factory adjusted. Retaining screws are paint sealed.

TEST CONDITIONS

-

sensor plate must be in rest position (1.9 ± 0.15 mm/0.074 ± 0.005 in.) below cone edge of venturi on fuel distributor side

POTENTIOMETER, CHECKING

-

disconnect potentiometer

-

unplug connector from potentiometer and connect test harness VW 1501 to potentiometer. Engine harness connector remains open

-

connect digital multimeter US 1119 to terminals of test harness VW 1501 and check potentiometer resistance

If readings NOT OK
