Idle Up Control Valve: Description and Operation

IDLE STABILIZATION

ENGINE CODES WU, KZ
COMPONENTS:

Switch unit (in relay plate socket 11 and 12) Control valve (in the line between air duct and manifold)
Thermoswitch (on cylinder head at front left) Switch (underneath throttle valve)

FUNCTION:

An electro-magnetic control valve is installed in place of the auxiliary air valve. The control valve maintains the idling speed at a constant level.
This control valve is in turn controlled by an electronic switch unit. 
The switch on throttle valve (idle position), thermoswitch (coolant temperature), terminal 1 on coil (speed) and A/C compressor supply the switch unit
with the necessary information.
Via the switch unit the thermoswitch ensures that the engine runs at an increased idling speed during the warm-up phase.
If the engine speed differs from the design speed in the switch unit the control valve is opened or closed accordingly. This additional air which by-passes
the throttle valve stabilizes the idle speed.
