Dashpot: Adjustments

NOTE:  To adjust the dash pot the throttle body must first be removed

-

fasten pointer for protractor 3084 to throttle body (using a spare nut and bolt)

-

thread protractor onto throttle shaft, if necessary remove throttle shaft nut

-

zero the pointer/protractor

-

open throttle 12 to 14 degrees

if properly adjusted: the dashpot roller, at this point of throttle travel, should just begin to lose contact with the dash pot plunger

If NO

-

loosen sealed lock nut 1 and turn dashpot 2 until a piece of thin paper can be slid between the roller and the dashpot plunger (arrows) without
binding

-

re-tighten lock nut

-

recheck adjustment, re-adjust if necessary
