Fuel Shut-off Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
1.
With the engine OFF and at normal operating temp, (80°C/176°F) connect test harness (VW 1315A/1 or equivalent) between the differential
pressure regulator, and the harness connector.
2.
Connect a multi-meter to the test harness.
3.
With the engine speed above 3000 rpm, snap the throttle closed and observe the meter reading.
4.
Within one second of closing the throttle, differential pressure regulator current must drop to -50 to -60 mA.
5.
As engine speed reaches 1200 rpm, differential presure regulator current should return to about 0 ma.
6.
If current is not within specification, repair wiring as necessary.
