Brake Proportioning/Combination Valve: Testing and Inspection

     The proportioning valve is located under the brake booster.

1.

Lift vehicle, then attach VW 1310 or equivalent, to left front and left rear brake calipers, then bleed gauges.

2.

Depress brake pedal until gauge on front caliper reads 725 psi. Gauge on rear caliper must read 435-507 psi.

3.

Increase pressure on brake pedal until gauge on front caliper reads 1450 psi and gauge on rear caliper reads 652-725 psi.

4.

Proportioning valve must be replaced if results cannot be obtained.

5.

Remove gauges, then bleed brake system.
