80 Quattro L5-2309cc 2.3L SOHC (NG) (1988)
Trip Computer: Description and Operation
Circuit Description
The board computer is a six-function trip computer. It is standard equipment on 90 Quattro models sold in Canada, and on all Coupe Quattro models,
USA and Canada. It is optional equipment on 90 and 80/90 Quattro models sold in the USA.
On 1988-1989 models, board computer functions are controlled and reset by a switch located on the center console. On later models, the function switch
is on the end of the windshield wiper switch lever.
For cars equipped with both the Auto-Check system and the board computer, the systems occupy separate printed circuit boards within the same module.
A fault in either system can be remedied by replacing the appropriate printed circuit board.
Fuses #4 (S4) and #12 (S12) supply power to the board computer.
WARNING: The driver-side airbag is an explosive device. Before removing the steering wheel or steering column switches, always disconnect the
airbag voltage supply connector. Refer to "Air Bag Systems" for more information.
