Repair Group Numbers, renamed

From 1990 m.y.

Repair Groups D2, D3, D4, D6, D8 and D9 have been re-named Repair Group 01. Diagnostic repair procedures and troubleshooting information
formerly located in these groups will now be found in Repair Group 01.

This change was implemented to bring North American Repair literature into conformance with the Audi A.G. worldwide format.

The new designation will be uniformly applied to all areas affected by Repair Group numbering such as Repair Manuals, Technical Bulletins, etc.

01 information will be assigned to the same logical location as the corresponding "D" groups did previously. As a further aid in identifying the various
01 applications, a descriptor will follow the 01 in parentheses:

01 (Fuel Injection and Ignition) will be in front of the 20s groups.

01 (Automatic Transmission) will be in front of the 30's groups.

01 (ABS) will be in front of the 40's groups.

01 (Air Condiflonlng) will be in front of the 80's groups.

01 (Airbag) will be in front of the 90's groups.

01 (Instrument Panel) will be in front of the 90's groups.

Note

Some current repair information is still identified with the "D" classification. These instances will eventually be converted to the 01 designation.
