Propeller shaft work must be performed with vehicle on a suitable dual support hoist.

1. Remove support, if necessary, then loosen propeller shaft bolts at transaxle, differential, and center support.
2. Ensure white dot on rear propeller shaft flange aligned with a black dot on differential flange. If not, scribe mark on propeller shaft and differential

flange prior to disassembly.

3. Install alignment tool 3139, or equivalent, on driveshaft and tighten plastic nuts.
4. Remove center support mounting bolts and washers.
5. Measure distance "a" as shown in Fig. 1. Clearance must be equal on both sides.
6. Select adjustment washers from chart in Fig. 2, to correct clearance if necessary.
