Power steering high pressure hose, replacing 90/90 Quattro from 1993 m.y.

This Technical Bulletin is issued to clarify the repair procedure required when replacing the power steering high pressure hose -arrow- on all 90 models
(from m.y. 1993).
Use the following recommended procedure when replacing a power steering high pressure hose.
Service

Remove driver's side lower instrument panel cover

Remove clip and clevis pin from brake pedal rod
-
Remove nuts securing brake booster
-
Remove engine cover and air intake hose
-
Move brake booster far enough to allow access to steering hose banjo bolt.
Note

The brake booster does not have to be removed completely.

Access to the steering gear is easier from the underside of the engine when removing/installing the banjo bolt and hose.

Remove lower engine pan
-
Remove steering hose banjo bolt at steering gear

Disconnect hose at pump connection and remove
-
Install in reverse order.

After installation, run engine and top off hydraulic fluid.
