REMOVAL

1. Disarm air bag system as described under Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems), Service and Repair.
2. Place steering wheel in the straight ahead position.
3. On vehicles without sport steering wheel, remove Torx T30 head screws at both sides of steering wheel, Fig. 5.
4. On vehicles equipped with sport steering wheel, remove Torx T20 head screws at both sides of steering wheel.
5. Detach air bag unit from steering wheel carefully and tilt downward.
6. Lift up safety clamp, then disconnect electrical connector from air bag unit, Fig. 6.
7. Do not place removed air bag unit face down on vinyl horn pad side. The horn pad must face upward.

INSTALLATION

1. Connect electrical connector to air bag unit, then position air bag unit to steering wheel.
2. Fasten clamp securing air bag wiring terminal, then install Torx head bolts. Tighten righthand Torx screw first, then the lefthand Torx screw.

Tighten bolts to specifications.

3. Arm air bag system as described under Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems), Service and Repair.
