Calibrating digital compass
Calibrating digital compass
The digital compass has to be calibrated if:
l  The digital compass information is inaccurate
l  A „C“ appears in the compass display instead of a point of the compass or if the display remains blank.
l  A new automatic anti-dazzle interior mirror -Y7- is fitted.
In exceptional circumstances, the digital compass may also have to be calibrated for example if:
l  The vehicle battery has been re-connected after a lengthy disconnection period
l  A new audio system or audio system components has/have been fitted
   
Calibrating digital compass:
–  Switch on the ignition.
l  The compass -1- must display a „C“.
–  If no „C“ appears, press the button -2- for between 9 and 12 seconds until a „C“ appears in the compass display.
–  Drive the vehicle in a circle two or three times at a speed of approx. 10 km/h (5 mph) until a point of the compass appears on the compass display.
–  On completion of calibration, re-activate the automatic anti-dazzle function of the interior mirror → Chapter.
