Removing and installing front three-point seat belt with N153/N154
Removing and installing front three-point seat belt with -N153-/-N154-
Front passenger seat belt tensioner igniter 1 -N154-/driver seat belt tensioner igniter 1 -N154-
Removing
  WARNING
t  Heed the safety regulations for pyrotechnic components → Chapter.
t  Heed the disposal regulations for pyrotechnic components → Chapter.
–  With the ignition switched on, disconnect the battery earth wire → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove the front belt end fitting → Chapter.
–  Remove the side trim → Chapter.
–  Remove the B-pillar trim → Chapter.
–  Guide the webbing out of the B-pillar trim.
  WARNING
Before handling belt tensioner units (for example to unplug the connector), the person concerned must „discharge static“, for instance by briefly grasping hold of the door striker plate.
   
–  Screw out the bolt -2- for the belt guide fitting.
–  Use a small screwdriver to release the connector locking element -arrow- and unplug the belt tensioner connector -1-.
–  Screw out the bolt -4- and take the automatic belt retractor -3- out of the mount.
Installing
  WARNING
t  Heed the safety regulations for pyrotechnic components → Chapter.
t  Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example to plug in the connector), the person concerned must „discharge static“, for instance by briefly grasping hold of the door striker plate.
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Make sure the connectors are pressed on as far as they will go and are heard to engage.

–  Insert the automatic belt retractor with the locating element -1- in the mount -2--arrow- and tighten the bolt.
  WARNING
The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (airbag, belt tensioner for example) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle when connecting the battery.
–  With the ignition switched on, connect the battery earth wire → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
