Removing and installing vacuum booster pump (TDI engine)
Removing and installing vacuum booster pump (TDI engine)
Removing
–  Remove engine cover panel.
   
–  Unplug connector -3-.
–  Remove air cleaner housing → Rep. gr.23.
–  Disconnect vacuum hose from pump.
  Caution
Take care not to damage the vacuum hose. The vacuum hose must be renewed if it is damaged.

–  Remove all bolts -arrows- from sealing flange of vacuum pump.
–  Pull vacuum pump out of its mounting.
Installing
  Note
Renew seal.
Ensure that seal is seated correctly.
Pay attention to correct installation position.
–  Turn drive lugs of vacuum pump so they engage in slots in camshaft when vacuum pump is installed.
–  Fit vacuum pump in position.
–  Ensure that seal is seated correctly.

–  Fit all bolts -arrows- on sealing flange of vacuum pump and tighten.
–  Connect vacuum hose to pump.

–  Install air cleaner housing → Rep. gr.23.
–  Plug in connector -3-.
–  Install engine cover panel.
  Caution
Make sure that the brakes work properly before the vehicle is driven on the road.
