Removing and installing gearbox mounting Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Support bracket -10 - 222 A-

Removing –  Remove air cleaner housing → Injection and glow plug system; Rep. gr.23.

–  Version for cold countries: unplug electrical connector -2-. –  Press release tabs and disconnect crankcase breather hose -1-. –  Detach vacuum hose -arrow-. –  Remove bolt -3-, swivel air pipe and connection to rear and detach from turbocharger.   Note -Item 4- can be disregarded.

–  Remove vacuum hose -arrow 1- (leading to brake servo) together with grommet -arrow 2-.

–  Remove nuts -1- and bolt -3- and press electronics box -2- to one side.

–  Set up support bracket -10 - 222 A- on wing mounting flanges, as shown in illustration. –  Engage hook of spindle -10 - 222 A /11- in engine lifting eye (rear left).

–  Remove bolts -arrows- from gearbox mounting -1-.

–  Remove bolts -arrows A, B, C- and detach gearbox mounting. Installing Installation is carried out in reverse sequence; note the following: l  Tightening torques → Chapter „Exploded view - assembly mountings“   Note Renew bolts which are tightened by turning through a specified angle. –  Install air cleaner housing → Injection and glow plug system; Rep. gr.23.
