Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Multi-purpose tool -VW 771- with puller hook -VW 771/37-
  W00-10728
t  Thrust piece -3305-
t  Sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-

Procedure
–  Remove flange shaft (left-side) → Chapter.
–  Pull out flange shaft oil seal using multi-purpose tool -VW 771- and puller hook -VW 771/37-.
–  Clean contact surface and sealing surface.

–  Lightly oil outer circumference of new oil seal.
–  Pack space between sealing lip and dust lip -arrow- half full with sealing grease -G 052 128 A1-.
  N32-10016
–  Drive in oil seal onto stop using thrust piece -3305-. Take care to keep seal straight when installing.
–  Install flange shaft (left-side) → Chapter.
–  Check oil level in gearbox and top up with gear oil if necessary → Chapter.
