q   Lightly coat lug with MoS2 grease

16 - Gearbox neutral position sender -G701-

Installation position: gearbox selector lever/selector shaft
–  When installing gearbox selector lever, make sure that the gap in the splines -arrow A- aligns with the wider spline -arrow B- on the selector shaft.

Installation position: gearbox selector lever/gate relay lever
l  Gate relay lever locates in guide rail of gearbox selector lever via slide block -arrow-.
l  Coat slide block and guide rail -arrow- with grease -G 000 450 02-.

Detaching and fitting gate relay lever
Detaching
–  Detach gear selector cable -1- and gate selector cable -2- → Fig..
–  Lift up tab on securing clip -3-, detach clip and pull off gate relay lever.
Securing
  Note
t  Renew securing clip.
t  Apply a small quantity of grease -G 000 450 02- to the pin on the gate relay lever.

Installing oil seal (insert onto stop)
  Note
You can also use the tube -VW 423- to fit the selector shaft oil seal.
