Transporting gearbox and securing to engine and gearbox support

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Support plate -VW 309-

t	Gearbox support -VW 353-

t	Shackle -10 - 222 A /12-

t	Lifting tackle -2024 A-

t	Eye-head bolt -3368-

t	Engine and gearbox support -VAS 6095-

t  Engine bung set -VAS 6122-

Sealing gearbox   Caution Risk of damage to gearbox t  It is not possible to check the fluid level in the hydraulic section of the mechatronic unit for dual clutch gearbox -J743-. When performing repairs, the breather opening on the mechatronic unit for dual clutch gearbox -J743- must be sealed off. Fluid which escapes from the mechatronic unit for dual clutch gearbox -J743- cannot be replenished and the fluid level cannot be checked! t  If oil escapes from the gear oil section, the gear oil must be replaced completely. It is not possible to check the level. t  Underfilling or overfilling either of the oil/fluid sections will impair the function of the gearbox. –  Remove both breather caps -arrows- and seal with clean plugs from engine bung set -VAS 6122-. l  After installing gearbox in vehicle, remove plugs and re-fit breather caps.

Securing gearbox on gearbox support -VW 353- l  Gearbox is sealed → Anchor

Lifting gearbox into engine and gearbox support l  Gearbox is sealed → Anchor The gearbox is lifted onto the engine and gearbox support -VW 353- together with the gearbox support -VAS 6095-.
