Calculating ratio „i“

Example:

i = Z₂ : Z₁ (Z₁ = number of teeth on drive gear, Z₂ = number of teeth on driven gear)

i_G = gear ratio = ZG₂: ZG₁ = 35 : 44 = 0.795

i_A = axle ratio = ZA₂ : ZA₁ = 71 : 17 = 4.176

i_ov = overall ratio = i_G x i_A = 0.795 x 4.176 = 3.320
