t  Counterhold tool -T10172-

Removing
–  Remove sump → Chapter.
–  Unclip cover -1- for chain sprocket for oil pump
  N15-10302
–  Slacken off bolt for chain sprocket for oil pump several turns -arrow-; use counterhold tool -T10172- to counterhold at chain sprocket.

–  Use screwdriver to press chain tensioner in direction of -arrow-.
–  Remove bolt for chain sprocket for oil pump.
–  Detach chain sprocket from oil pump and take out of drive chain.

–  Remove bolts -arrows- and remove oil pump.
Installing
l  Tightening torques → Chapter „ Sump, oil pump - exploded view“
  Note
Renew the bolts tightened with specified tightening angle.
–  Check whether dowel sleeves for centring oil pump and cylinder block are fitted; install missing dowel sleeves.
–  Fit oil pump and tighten bolts.

–  Use screwdriver to press chain tensioner in direction of -arrow-.

–  Fit chain sprocket for oil pump
l  Installation position: Sprocket can only be fitted on oil pump shaft in one position -arrow-.
Remaining installation steps are carried out in reverse sequence; note the following:
–  Install sump → Chapter.
