Vacuum test for injectors
Vacuum test for injectors
  Note
t  Leaking solenoid valves in the injectors can lead to the engine not running smoothly or not starting at all.
t  To check the solenoid valves for dirt and thus an increased return flow rate, a vacuum test can be performed in addition to the "classic" return flow rate measurement.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213-

t  Use a return line to make an -adapter-.
  N23-10450
–  Press retaining clips for return line connections out of all injectors using a screwdriver -arrow- and remove them using long-nose pliers.

–  Then detach fuel return line connections from injectors in direction of -arrow-.
  Note
No dirt must be allowed to get into the disconnected return lines or the open connections on the injectors.
–  Connect adapter to the injector to be checked.

–  Generate a vacuum of -500 mbar using the hand vacuum pump -VAS 6213-.
l  Specification: The vacuum should remain constant for 30 seconds.
In the case of a faulty injector, the vacuum will fall back to 0 bar within 2 to 3 seconds. Renew faulty injector → Chapter.
Install fuel return lines → Chapter.
