Removing and installing Lambda probeG39 with Lambda probe heaterZ19
Removing and installing Lambda probe -G39- with Lambda probe heater -Z19-
Special tools and workshop equipment required
   
t  Lambda probe open ring spanner set -3337-

Removing
–  Pull off engine cover panel → Chapter.
–  Unplug electrical connector -4- for Lambda probe -G39-.
–  Unscrew Lambda probe -G39--item 3- using a tool from Lambda probe open ring spanner set -3337-.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order; note the following:
l  Tightening torque → Chapter „Lambda probe, exhaust gas temperature senders and pressure senders - exploded view“
  Note
t  Threads of new Lambda probes are already coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into the slots on the probe body.
t  In the case of a used Lambda probe grease only the thread with high-temperature paste. The paste must not get into the slots on the Lambda probe body. For high-temperature paste refer to → Electronic parts catalogue
t  When installing, the Lambda probe wiring must always be reattached at the same locations to prevent it from coming into contact with the exhaust pipe.
